Distributech 2010 - Tampa, FL
The conference and exhibition drew over 5,000 attendees, and featured over 300
exhibitors. The exhibition was focused on Smart Girds and advanced metering.
Tavrida Electric exhibited circuit breakers, reclosers and retrofit solutions.
The new TEL-SMART 38kV circuit breaker drew interest together with its recloser
test system ITS-02 for testing recloser settings and faults under realistic
conditions. This 38kV circuit breaker is the most compact product at its voltage
class, even when compared to lower voltages down to 15kV. The exhibition is
The 15kV and 27kV reclosers were exhibited with the SEL 351 control interface
(651R also possible). Tavrida Electric also showed its ultra fast one cycle
interrupter which compatible to common arc flash relays such as SEL 751 and
VAMP.

IEEE 2010 Exhibition - New Orleans
With approximately 11,000 attendees, the IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution
Conference and Exposition in New Orleans, LA was well attended despite the
disruption of flights from Europe due to the Icelandic volcano eruption. Tavrida
Electric North America exhibited their complete medium voltage product range
from indoor circuit breakers and retrofits to reclosers and outdoor circuit
breakers.
The compactness of Tavrida circuit breakers was attractive due to the potential
of saving costs on switchgear enclosure and ease of integration.
The 38kV circuit breaker received a lot of attention due to its design and
ratings. With 1200A and weighing less than 200lb, it can be mounted horizontally
or vertically and will save on installation costs. Utilities were pleased to
learn that Tavrida reclosers have the ability to interface with the SEL 351R or
651R.
Tavrida also exhibited its compact retrofit solution for ITE 5HK 250. Other
popular retrofit solutions based on DHP and Magneblast were also discussed.
